Home made Christmas Wreaths<\/h1><\/div>

Hello and Happy December!<\/p>\n

I have been getting into the Christmas spirit and decided to make my wreath this week.<\/p>\n

I use the same basic base every year and add fresh foliage from the garden along with some decorations to make a bright unique focal point for the front door.<\/p>\n

Here is the base I use:<\/p>\n<\/div>

By adding some garden foliage first, it makes the wreath look fresh and seasonal. If you are using holly please be careful of the prickles. The berries are poisonous and I prefer to leave them for the birds, so I have used faux berries I found in Homesense. The wired green foliage on the wreath will help you to secure the foliage around the base, you can use garden wire to secure in place. Traditional ivy looks nice, variegated is very pretty if you can find it but try to cut a good length so it will go all the way around the wreath. Then find some other greenery, possibly with a flower. This can be placed to the side along with a few silk flower heads. Then you can add some pretty decorations, I have selected a nutcracker, jingle bells and a dove. But you can use anything you like, maybe a \u201cMerry Christmas\u201d sign or some pretty, mini baubles and a bow. The possibilities are endless and you can choose a theme that co -ordinates with the rest of your home if you wish.<\/p>\n

For the final touch, I add battery operated fairy lights and turn them on at dusk to add a touch of sparkle and glamour. Then next year you can use the same base and add different decorations to create a new wreath.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
